Product Application of Dicyandiamide CAS#461-58-5
(1) As a raw material for guanidine salts and cyanamide. Various guanidine salts can be produced by reacting dicyandiamide with acid. The cyanamide obtained by the reaction of dicyandiamide and benzonitrile is an intermediate for coatings, laminates, and molding powders.
(2) As a dye fixative. The dicyandiamide resin obtained by the reaction of dicyandiamide and formaldehyde can be used as a dye fixative.
(3) Dicyandiamide fertilizers and dicyandiamide compound fertilizers can control the activity of nitrifying bacteria, regulate the conversion rate of nitrogen fertilizer in the soil, reduce nitrogen loss, and improve the efficiency of fertilizer use.
(4) As a fine chemical intermediate. In medicine, it is used to prepare guanidine nitrate, sulfonamide drugs, etc.; it is also used to prepare thiourea, nitrocellulose stabilizer, rubber vulcanization accelerator, steel surface hardener, artificial leather filler, adhesive, etc. The pharmaceutical intermediate 5-azacytosine can be obtained by reacting dicyandiamide with formic acid.
