Products Description of (2-Bromoethyl)benzene CAS#103-63-9
β-Bromophenylethane is an important intermediate for the synthesis of highly efficient brominated flame retardant polybrominated styrene, and is also commonly used in the preparation of organic synthesis intermediates. For example, β-Bromophenylethane can be used to prepare 4-(4-phenylbutoxy)benzoic acid, an intermediate for preparing pranlukast. Pranlukast was first successfully developed by Ono Co., Ltd. of Japan as an anti-asthma drug and was launched in Japan in 1995. In 1999, it was found to be able to treat allergic rhinitis. Pranlukast is a leukotriene C4/D4 receptor antagonist (lTRAs) with extremely low toxicity. It can selectively inhibit the activity of leukotriene polypeptides in airway smooth muscle, has almost no effect on arachidonic acid metabolic enzymes, and has no antagonistic effect on acetylcholine, 5-hydroxytryptamine, etc., and has significant inhibition on lTC4, lTD4, lTE4, etc.
