Antioxidants are organic compounds that can inhibit or delay the thermal oxidation of polymers and other organic compounds in the air. Usually, adding a small concentration of 1% antioxidant is very effective. For example, foods are prone to oxidation and deterioration, and a small amount of antioxidants can be added to extend their storage time. Polymer materials such as plastics, synthetic fibers and rubber are prone to thermal oxidation degradation reactions. Adding antioxidants can maintain the excellent properties of polymer materials and extend their service life.
The closer the antioxidant is added to the aging cycle, the better, for example, before the polymer is dried into powder. Antioxidant PL-440 is a phosphite antioxidant with excellent performance. It can be used as an auxiliary antioxidant and heat stabilizer for polymers. It is widely used in PVC, PET, ABS, polyolefins, nylon, PPO, PBT alloys, polystyrene and other polymers.
It can effectively improve the light stability, processing stability, mechanical strength, color stability and transparency of products, and extend the life of products. An excellent phosphite antioxidant, with the appearance of white powder, easily soluble in organic solvents such as benzene, chloroform, cyclohexane, slightly soluble in ethanol and acetone, insoluble in polar solvents such as water and alcohol, and slightly soluble in esters. It has low toxicity, low volatility, high thermal stability, excellent hydrolysis resistance, and can effectively decompose the hydroperoxides produced during the thermal processing of polymer materials.
It has a good synergistic effect when used in combination with hindered amine antioxidants 1010 and 1076, and can improve the stability of polymer materials during thermal processing. There are more than a dozen formulations compounded with phenolic antioxidants, which are widely used in polyolefins (such as polyethylene, polypropylene) and olefin copolymers, polyamides, polycarbonates, PS resins, PVC, engineering plastics, rubber and petroleum products, ABS resins and other polymer materials.
