Thiosalicylic acid, o-mercaptobenzoic acid, white triclinic crystals or white solids. Soluble in ethanol and glacial acetic acid, slightly soluble in water. Used in the preparation of thioindigo dyes, and also used as a reagent for iron analysis. Used in the electroplating industry for anti-corrosion treatment of ferrous metals, also used as a metal surface treatment agent, and as a colorant in the ceramic industry.
