2,3,4,6-tetrabenzyl-D-pyranose glucose, when used as a pharmaceutical intermediate, can be used to synthesize 3-glycosylated sugar derivatives for Alzheimer's disease;

Sulfate and phosphate sugar complexes and indolepyrrolecarbazole sugar derivatives for cancer treatment; Perfluoroalkyl sugar complexes for cancer diagnosis;

Voglibose, nojirimycin and aminolevulinic acid glucose esters for diabetes treatment; Polysaccharides, benzotriazole sugar derivatives, nitrobenzene sugar derivatives, phospholipid sugar conjugates for the treatment of sepsis, meningitis, AIDS, osteoporosis, osteitis deformans and other diseases.

It can also be used to prepare halogenated pyranose glucose, synthesize 1-alkylated or glycosylated d-pyranose glucose derivatives, etc. The conjugate of 1-olefinated tetrabenzyl glucose and c15 crown ether is a new phase transfer catalyst.
