Products Description of Sodium sulfate CAS#7757-82-6
Sodium sulfate is an important chemical raw material and the main raw material for producing chemical products such as sodium sulfide and sodium silicate. Sodium sulfate is also called glauber's salt, anhydrous sodium sulfate, and anhydrous sodium sulfate. White monoclinic crystals are fine crystals or powders. Relative density is 2.68, melting point is 884℃. Soluble in water, and the aqueous solution is neutral. Soluble in glycerol, insoluble in ethanol, exposed to air, it easily absorbs water to become hydrated sodium sulfate. It is a homogeneous polycrystalline substance, which is rhombus at a temperature of 32.4-223℃, and monoclinic crystals are formed at a higher temperature, and it turns into hexagonal crystals at 241℃. When crystallized from a solution, it has an affinity for iron, iron compounds and various organic matter; high-purity, fine-grained anhydrous sodium sulfate is called glauber's salt.

Product Application of Sodium sulfate CAS#7757-82-6
Sodium sulfate is an important raw material for making glass and paper. It is used in the papermaking and cellulose industries in the largest amount, accounting for about 70% of the total. Sodium sulfate is a component of synthetic detergents. It is a neutral salt. Adding it can reduce surface tension and increase the solubility of detergents. It is also a diluent for dyes and an auxiliary agent for dyeing and printing. It is used as an accelerator for dyeing cotton fibers with direct dyes, sulfur dyes, and vat dyes, and as a retarder for dyeing silk with direct dyes. In the chemical industry, sodium sulfate is used as a raw material for making sodium sulfide, gypsum, sodium silicate and other chemical products.
