Products Description of Saccharin CAS#81-07-2
Pure saccharin is a non-toxic, non-caloric, non-nutritious sweetener that is not absorbed by the human body. Taking advantage of its sweet taste, it is used as a food additive to replace sugar. As a food additive, saccharin has no nutritional value to the human body except that it causes a sweet feeling in the taste buds and the sweetness of the taste can meet the requirements of consumers. The "saccharin" available on the market is actually its sodium salt, namely saccharin sodium.

Product Application of Saccharin CAS#81-07-2
Saccharin is o-benzoylsulfonyl imide, which is an intermediate of the fungicide allylthiazole and the herbicides metsulfuron-methyl, bensulfuron-methyl, ethametsulfuron-methyl, and chlorimuron-methyl. It is a non-nutritive sweetener, and its sodium salt or ammonium salt is generally used. It can dissolve slowly in the mouth, so it is suitable for chewing gum, with a maximum dosage of 0.05g/kg (Japan, 1998). Saccharin is also mainly used to produce pesticide intermediates and saccharin sodium, and sweet taste enhancers for mammals; it can be used as an inhibitor of phosphotransferase and phosphohydrolase; it is also used to test thallium.
