Products Description of Prussian Blue CAS#14038-43-8
Prussian Blue, also known as Berlin Blue, Gong Blue, Iron Blue, Milori Blue, Chinese Blue, Milori Blue, Hualan. It is an ancient blue dye that can be used for glazing and oil painting dyes. Prussian blue brings us a breathtaking beauty. It is not only a unique color, but also reflects a precipitated texture.
Prussian blue is a blue dye discovered in 1706. Its structure is composed of Fe (II) and Fe (III) coordinated with cyano (-CN-). As a coordination polymer, Prussian blue has excellent magnetic, electrical and optical properties, and its magnetic energy conforms to Curie's law in the range of 200-300k. In the field of electrochemistry, Prussian blue is an excellent electron transfer medium. Fe of different valence states in the molecule can transfer electrons to each other through cyano, causing two absorption bands at 680nm and 400nm, which is why Prussian blue appears blue. Due to the presence of mixed valence Fe in Prussian blue, it also has multiple redox states and presents different colors, such as Prussian white, Berlin green and Prussian yellow. In particular, the FDA approved Prussian blue as an antidote for thallium and cesium in 2003, which fully demonstrated the good biosafety of Prussian blue, aroused great research interest, and made many advances in the biomedical field.
