Products Description of Nickel carbonateCAS#3333-67-3
Nickel carbonate is a light green crystal at room temperature. It is almost insoluble in water, more soluble in water containing CO2 than pure water, soluble in ammonia water and dilute acid, and insoluble in cold concentrated hydrochloric acid and nitric acid. When strongly heated in the air, it generates oxides. It reacts with ammonium chloride solution to produce CO2 and NH3, leaving nickel chloride (II) solution.
Nickel carbonate is an important nickel compound. Its known forms include normal nickel carbonate, basic nickel carbonate and acid nickel carbonate. It is usually obtained by reacting nickel nitrate with an aqueous solution of soda ash. Due to their different preparation methods, pure nickel carbonate and acid nickel carbonate are rare, and basic nickel carbonate is the main component. Basic nickel carbonate is an important chemical raw material, widely used in industrial catalysts, precision electroplating, printed circuit board electroplating, general alloy electroplating, nickel-nickel alloy electroforming, ceramic industry and other industries. Basic nickel carbonate is a raw material for the manufacture of a variety of nickel salts, and is an emerging chemical product that is gradually replacing traditional petrochemical catalysts. In recent years, with the strengthening of environmental awareness in the entire society, the traditional petrochemical catalyst nickel nitrate has been polluted by nitrogen oxides, while basic nickel carbonate does not have nitrate ions and nitrogen oxide pollution. It is a new catalyst for oil processing, which will gradually replace the traditional petrochemical catalyst nickel nitrate and has a large market demand.
